A delegation of Austrian experts paid a visit to the Arvand Free Trade and Industrial Zone in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan.
BENA - The tour was aimed at exploring the economic and tourism opportunities in the Islamic Republic.
The delegation, which included urban developers, trade specialists and tourism officials, made the visit in coordination with the Austrian Embassy in Tehran.
In April, Director General of Austria's National Library Johanna Rachinger visited Tehran as part of the Iran-Austria Cultural Committee to enhance relations between the two countries.
The committee, which was formed after World War II, has taken constructive steps to boost relations between the two nations.
The Arvand Free Zone is a 155-square kilometer (60-square mile) industrial and security zone along the key Arvand waterway.
The Iranian Oil Ministry has signed an agreement with the Arvand Free Trade Zone to construct an oil refinery in the region.
The project is expected to remarkably boost economic growth in Khuzestan province.
