The Iran-Nakhjavan bridge built on Aras border river came on stream on Saturday in northwest of Iran.
Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi and some high ranking Azerbaijani officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
The 250-meter-long bridge cost up to 40 billion rials (some 4 million dollars) to be constructed. It will facilitate the transit of goods and passengers between the two states.
The first phase of a project for exploiting Aras River’s water was also inaugurated.
The project will supply water to around 2,000 hectares area of agricultural lands in the region and will create some 1,500 job opportunities.
