Managing director of Chabahar Free Zone announced that shrimps come chabahar for breeding twice a year.
BENA- ''Temperatures are warm, reaching average highs of 35 degrees Celsius in the hottest month of June, and average lows of 15 celsius in the coolest month of January which is perfect temperature for shrimp breeding,'' Mohammad Baqer Taherizadeh said.
Some numbers of shrimp farms have been constructed in the coast of Chabahar and potted shrimps come for breeding and then revert to sea, he remarked.
Close cooperation between investors and experts boosted shrimp production in the region, he stressed.
Private sector investors have inked agreement with experts in the field of shrimp producing for preserving and breeding shrimp, he mentioned.
Majority of shrimp farms were ruined due to cyclone two years ago which reconstructed again, he specified.
As with other seafood, shrimp is high in calcium, iodine and protein but low in food energy. A shrimp-based meal is also a significant source of cholesterol, from 122 mg to 251 mg per 100 g of shrimp, depending on the method of preparation.
